Dr. Lawrence Morton was in- stalled as the 67th president of the Detroit Chapter of Alpha Omega. Dr. Morton practices dentistry in Southfield and has been active in Alpha Omega since his initiation in the Alpha Nu Chapter at the University of Detroit Mercy in 1958. He is a member of the American Den- tal Association, Michigan Den- tal Association, Oakland County Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, of Detroit- Mercy Dental Alumni Associa- tion. New Program For Youth The Maple-Drake Jewish Com- munity Center will hold an af- ter-school club for elementary school children. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade will have optional trans- portation from designated schools in West Bloomfield, Walled Lake and Farmington Hills to the campus of the Jew- ish Community Center. Activi- ties will include: swimming, in-line skating, tennis, Judaic programs, aerobics, dance, soft- ball, drama, computer lab, and visits to the Janice Charach Ep- stein Museum Gallery and My Jewish Discovery Place Muse- um. Supervised homework and kosher snacks will be provided. Children in the club will receive discounts on after-school class- es. Registration is being accept- ed for daily and weekly partic- ipation.
