Dialogue Set
On Farrakhan

Rabbi Herschel Finman will fea-
ture Bentzion Stein on 'The Jew-
ish Hour," Sunday, June 16, at
noon on WPON, 1460 AM. Rab-
bi Stein will discuss the annual
Siyum Harambam and Siyum
Hagemora to be held that
evening.

Louis Farrakhan will be the fo-
cus of an open black/Jewish dia-
logue between Congregation Shir
Tikvah of Troy and Plymouth

M. Fisher Building.
The 1996 Campaign achieved
record heights. Thousands of

Bais Chabad Torah Center will
begin its Project Talmud Sum-
mer on Sunday, June 23, at the
Torah Center, 5595 West Maple
Road, West Bloomfield. The se-
mester will run from June 23
through Aug. 15 and will include
classes on Jewish mysticism,
Torah portion of the week,
prophets and a crash course in
Hebrew reading. Child care will
be available during some of these
classes. For information, call the
Torah Center, 855-6170.
The Torah Center will have a
teen-age boys' day camp, which
will be in session from Monday,
Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 23.
The camp, which is directed by
Tuli Silberberg, will include a
sports program, overnights, boat-
ing and Torah study. To register,

Simcha Hosts
Psychic Night

Simcha, and organization for Jew-
ish gays, lesbians, their family
and friends, will present an
evening with a professional psy-

Park on Saturday evening, June

Sports Auction

On Monday, June 17, beginning
at 7 p.m. Temple Beth El will
host a sports memorabilia auc-
tion.
Celebrity guest auctioneer will

for the auction is $10 for adults

$10 off a bid) and children under

Maple-Drake
Symposium Set

The third annual Creative
Grandparenting Symposium will
take place at the Maple-Drake
Jewish Community Center on
Tuesday, June 18, at 7:30 p.m.
and at the Jimmy Prentis Mor-
ris building on Thursday, June
20, at 7:30 p.m. The Tuesday pro-
gram will feature psychologist
and author Dr. Sonya Friedman,
who will speak on "Being a
Grandparent: A Change of Life."
Tuesday evening will also fea-
ture a resource fair for grand-
parents. The exhibitors will
provide information on enter-
taining activities for grandpar-
ents and grandchildren.
On Thursday, Laurie Bennett,
director of "Free Press Plus," the
on-line service of the Detroit Free
Press, will discuss "Closing the
Gap Between Radio Grandpar-
ents and Cyber Kids." Regina
Smolisky, a counselor with the
Jewish Resettlement Service,
will speak. Her talk in Russian
will be on coping with the culture
shock of families with "Old
World" grandparents and "Amer-
ican" grandchildren.
This program is provided free
of charge as a service to the com-
munity through the sponsorship
of Generations Together, a re-
cipient of a grant from the Max
M. Fisher Jewish Community
Foundation, a grant from the
DeRoy Testamentary Founda-
tion and the support of The Jew-
