Aharon Levran

Rabbi Arnie Sleutelberg of Con-
gregation Shir Tikvah will share
"Jewish Humor Through the
Ages," a look at Jewish comedi-
ans. Talks will be at three Oak-
land County locations: the
Barnes & Noble Bookstore in
West Bloomfield on Monday,
June 10, at 7 p.m.; the Barnes &
Noble Bookstore in Rochester
Hills on Tuesday, June 18, at 7
p.m.; and the Barnes & Noble
Bookstore in Bloomfield Hills on
Thursday, June 27, at 7 p.m.

Aharon Levran

An authority on the geopoli-
tics and military strategy issues
of Israel and the Middle East,
Aharon Levran completed al-
most 30 years of service with the
Israel Defense Forces (IDF), re-
tiring with the rank of Brigadier-
General. He holds a master of
arts degree in political science
and Mideast studies from the
Hebrew University of
Jerusalem.
Mr. Levran was founder and
leader of The Security and Peace
Council and The Forum for Se-
curity and National Strength
composed of senior reserve offi-
cers and academics.

JPM Hosts
Tour, Club

On Tuesday, June 11, the Jim-
my Prentis Morris Jewish Com-
munity Center will sponsor a
bus trip to the exhibit "Tombs
of the Jerusalem Aristocracy" at
the Janice Charach Epstein Mu-
seum/Gallery at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield. This exhibit from Is-
rael shows the burial traditions
of Jews and others from 30 BCE
to the 6th or 7th century. The
bus leaves JMP for Maple-
Drake at 9:30 a.m. and is free of
charge.
The Yiddish Culture Club
will meet on June 13, at 12:30
path. This group is lead by Haim
Rozenthal. There is no charge.
