Voters in the 15th state Senate
District sent Republican Willis
Bullard to the Senate and De-
mocrat Barry Brickner back to
practicing law.

Senator-elect Bullard

In Tuesday's special election,
state Rep. Bullard secured 58.6
percent of the votes, a total of
10,614 ballots cast in his favor.
Mr. Brickner secured 7,319 votes,
winning only West Bloomfield.
Rep. Bullard won easily in
Farmington, Farmington Hills,
Northville, South Lyon, Walled
Lake, Wixom, Commerce Town-
ship, Highland Township, Lyon
Township and Milford. The two
candidates split Novi with a to-
tal of five votes each. ❑

Two Programs

Machon L'Torah, the Jewish
Learning Network of Michigan,
will hold an educational
lunchtime conference at Henry
Ford Hospital on Thursday, June
13, at 11:45 a.m. Rabbi Avraham
Jacobovitz will lead a discussion
on "Can One Gain From Pain?
Health Care Salaries in Jewish
Law." A deli lunch will follow the
discussion. The program will be
hosted by Dr. Barry Levine and
Dr. Steve Levine. There is a
charge of $7. For information and

In addition, Machon LTorah,
will hold a program on Sunday,
June 9, at 7:30 p.m. for the Russ-
ian outreach division. The pro-
gram will include an educational
lecture by Rabbi Jacobovitz on
"Out of the Spitival Gulag: Shat-
tering the myths about Jews and
Judaism implanted by our na-
tion's enemies and oppressors."
Mr. Roman Lundin will trans-
late the lecture into Russian. The
event will be held at Machon
L'Torah, 15221 W. Ten Mile
Road, Oak Park. Refreshments
will be served. There is no charge.
