Sisterhood
The Congregation Beit Kodesh
Sisterhood will have its intalla-
tion of officers 1 p.m. Sunday,
June 9, at the synagogue.
Milton Goldman will install
the incoming officers: Ilene
Salmons and Martha Gordon, co-
presidents; Helene Westerman,
secretary; and Dorothy Diskin,
treasurer.

For Morgenthau
Henry Morgenthau Chapter,
Jewish Women International
will have its June luncheon
meeting on Wednesday, June 12,
at Temple Emanu-El at noon.
Fern Katz will be the speak-
er. She was a delegate for Na-
tional Council of Jewish Women
for the World Conference on
Women held in Beijing last fall.
Her topic will be "The Status of
Women in the World."
The Theater Group will be the
hostesses for the luncheon. There
is a charge for members and

Two Honored
By Round Table
The American Arabic and Jew-
ish Friends of Metropolitan De-
troit, a program of the Greater
Detroit Interfaith Round Table,
will honor Yousif B. Ghafari and
Alan E. Schwartz at its 10th an-
nual dinner on Sunday, June 9,
at 6:30 p.m. at the Troy Mar-
riott. These two honorees will be
the recipients of the annual
Friends' Community Service
Award.
Proceeds from the dinner are
used to finance scholarships for
graduating high school seniors
of Arabic and Jewish descents
who write essays on a selected
subject.
Yousif B. Ghafari, the Arabic
recipient, is the founder, presi-
dent and CEO of Ghafari Asso-
ciates, Inc., a full-service
architectural, engineering, plan-
ning and management firm.
Alan E Schwartz, the Jewish re-
cipient, is a partner of the law
firm of Honigman, Miller,
Schwartz & Cohn, of which he
was a founding partner.
