Alia's, 27167 Greenfield, Southfield,
559-8222. A good family restaurant serv-
ing American and Lebanese cuisine, Alia's
owners Dania and Ed Farah are proud
of their homemade specialties prepared
from natural ingredients. It is open 7 days
a week serving breakfast, lunch and din-
ner. Carryout of its entire menu is avail-
able as is off-premise catering.

Excalibur, 28875 Franklin Rd., South-
field, 358-3355. When former owner
Pat Archer passed on, people said Ex-
calibur would also go. However, they
didn't reckon with Marty Wilk, own-
er/chef who has made it one of Metro-
politan Detroit's markedY popular dining
and dancing spots. It's Frank Sinatra's fa-
vorite while in the local area. Entertain-
ment is Tues. thw Sat. and complete
catering at Excalibur plus homes, halls, etc.

Gateway Deli, 21754 W. 11 Mile,
Harvard Row, Southfield, 352-4940. A
different touch has been given this pop-
ular delicatessen-restaurant by owner Pe-
ter Bershaj. His assortment of gourmet
dishes are brought from Peter's former lar-
co's days, and are combined with familiar
traditional homemade Jewish dishes.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, party trays and
outside catering are Gateway Deli stand-
outs.

McVee's Sports Bar & Grill,
23380 Telegraph Road, Southfield, 352-
8243. This is more than just another sports
her and grill restaurant. Veteran restaura-
teur Herman Yagoda features charbroiled
steaks, fresh seafood, large burgers, baby-
back ribs and lamb chops that he de-
fies others b beat. Also home-made soups
and daily specials at both lunch and din-
ners, with moderate prices in a casual
and relaxed atmosphere.

New Seoul Garden, 27566 North-
western, Southfield, 827-1600. Authen-
ticity is brought to the table where favorites
such as beef, chicken and shrimp are pre-
pared on a barbecue grill in front of cus-
tomers. Floor sealing and a sushi bar also
add to its appeal. Authentic Korean and
Japanese dishes are the theme foods at
this restaurant with a sister Seoul Garden
in Sterling Heights.

Pearl City, 27522 Northwestern Hwy.
at 11 Mile, 354-3700. The Oriental din-
ing imagination is captured in a moder-
ately-priced Chinese menu at lunch and
dinner. Pearl City Southfield's Sunday Buf-
fet, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and menu selec-
Lions, offer customers a variety of ways in
which to dine. A children's menu is a fa-
vorite for family dining.

Peking Garden, 29875 North-
western Hwy., Applegate Square, West
Bloomfield, 353-7890. Szechuan, Hu-
nan and Chinese dishes are available for
dinners and carryout seven days a week,
Mon.-Thurs. 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Fri.
& Sat. 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday 12
noon to 10 p.m. The fresh new atmos-
phere of this awaited restaurant is ac-
cented by the fine Oriental food it serves.

Radisson Plaza Hotel, 1500 Town
Center, Southfield, 827-4000. Individ-
ual taste presentations are offered by Iwo
restaurants which stand out for their din-
ing diversities. T.C. Linguine with its Ital-
ian fore and Tango's Cocktail Lounge that
features a bistro atmosphere with enter-
tainment for dancing. The many services
offered by Radisson Plaza at Town Cen-
ter has given it a high rating by hotel pe-
riodicals.
