League Holds
Annual Installation

The League of Jewish Women's
Organizations will hold its an-
nual installation meeting and
program on May 16, at Congre-
gation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses at 12:15 p.m. Marion
Shiffman, past president of the
League and the Jewish Com-
munity Council, will install Bev-
erly Canvasser as league
president.
Ms. Canvasser has served as
president of Temple Beth El Sis-
terhood and of District 11 Na-
tional Federation of Temple
Sisterhoods. She and her hus-
band were honored by the Union
of American Hebrew Congrega-
tions for the Reform Jewish Ap-
peal.
Installed as vice presidents
will be Dolores Greenspan, Bar-
bara Grant, Ann Zonsmer,
Pearlena Bodzin, Joanne Zuroff,
and Sherri Stern. Treasurer will
be Ruth Yost; financial secretary,
Rita Weston; recoding secretary,
Donna Phillips; corresponding
secretary, Shirley Schlussel;
mailing secretaries, Dorothy
Tendler and Judie Moss; publi-
cation secretary, Ida Nathan; ad-
viser, Evelyn Noveck.
A musical program, featuring
Penny M. Steyer, will follow the
installation.

Publicity Deadlines

The normal deadline for local
news and publicity items is noon
Thursday, eight days prior to is-
sue date. The deadline for birth
announcements is 10 a.m. Mon-
day, four days prior to issue date;
out-of-town obituaries, 10 a.m.
Tuesday, three days prior to is-

sue date.
