KAREN ZALENKO has been
elected to membership in Sigma
Theta Tau International Honor
Society of Nursing, Rho Chapter
at the University of Michigan
School of Nursing.
LEE B. KELLERT has been

designated a dean's list scholar
for academic achievement at
Washington and Jefferson Col-
lege. He is also president of Phi
Alpha Theta, a national honor
society in history. In addition, he
was recently inducted in to Omi-
cron Delta Epsilon, a national
honor society in economics.
ELAINE LEBENBOM will
have the world premier of a
choral piece of music in New
York at Merkin Hall in the Lin-
coln Center area, performed by
the New York Virtuoso Singers.
The piece was commissioned by
Harold Rosenbaum, choral con-
ductor. Ms. Lebenbom has a
master's degree in composition
from the University of Michigan
and her compositions have been
performed throughout the world.

tist and assistant professor of pe-

Detroit, as well as a member of
the board of trustees at Congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek in South-

of Baseball In 1939: The Water-
shed Season of the National Pas-
time, was one of 30 speakers
invited to participate in the sec-
ond annual "Conference on Base-
ball in Literature and Culture,"
recently held at Indiana State
University. His presentation was
on baseball and cultural change
in the late 1930s.

Outstanding Student Awards.
This honor was recognized at an
awards convocation where Ms.
Lawson and Mr. Bernstein each

tribute by the state legislature
and a congratulatory letter from
Governor Engler.
Rachel works as a Hebrew
teacher and is active at the U-M
Hillel Foundation.
Richard is active in many
causes designed to assist the
handicapped. He was student
body president of the College of
Literature, Science and the Arts.
