U-M Hillel
Events Planned

Volunteers in Action, Hillel and
Habitat for Humanity will meet
on Tuesday, March 12, at 3:30
p.m. to help build homes for low-
income families. Call Dan Shere,
(313) 996-5954; or Rachel Law-
son, (313) 995-4701 to reserve.
Volunteers in Action's (VIA Hil-
lel) Dinner for the Homeless will
be Thursday, March 14, from 3
p.m.-7:30 p.m. at First Methodist
Church (on the corner of State
and Washington), Ann Arbor. The
first shift, from 3-5 p.m., will cook
food, and the second shift, from 5-
7:30 p.m. will serve food.
Shulchan Ivrit will meet
Thursday, March 14, at 5:30 p.m.,
downstairs at Cava Java Cafe
(corner of East University and
South University, Ann Arbor).
The Reform Chavurah's week-
ly meeting will be Thursday,
March 14, at 7 p.m. at Hillel.

Youth Plan
Tzedakah Event

The Temple Kol Ami Religious
School will host a family educa-
tion program for the 2nd grade on
Sunday morning, March 10, at
Ealy Elementary School. "Jewish
Heroes Just Like Me" is the
theme.
Participants will look at the sto-
ries of Bible characters for mod-
els of Tzedakah and G'milut
Chasadim and will create the
medals for heroic acts performed.
The group will package up toi-
letries collected for MJAC (Michi-
gan Jewish AIDS Coalition).

Publicity Deadlines

The normal deadline for local news and
publicity items is noon Thursday, eight
days prior to issue date. The deadline
for birth announcements is 10 a.m.
Monday, four days prior to issue date;
out-of-town obituaries, 10 a.m. Tues-
day, three days prior to issue date.
