LAWRENCE PERNICK of
Southfield has been elected to
serve as a vice-chairman of a new
Strategic Planning committee for
the Board of Commissioners. In
addition, Mr. Pemick will serve
on the Public Services Commit-
tee that oversees the offices of
prosecuting attorney, sheriff, pro-
bation, public and mental health.
Mr. Pemick also was elected to
a three-year term on the Coun-
ty Parks and Recreation Com-
mittee.

JACK J. KRAIZMAN was cho-
sen by the Criminal Law Section
of the Detroit Bar Association as
a co-recipient of the William L.
Cahalan Award. Mr. Kraizman
has worked with the Jewish War
Veterans for the past 52 years,
is a member of the State Bar of
Michigan and a practicing at-
torney in the State and Federal
Court.

JUNE A. REED has been
named assistant to the executive
vice-president of the Jewish Fed-
eration of Metropolitan Detroit.
She will help provide support on
various projects that relate to
fund raising, community outreach
and Israel programs.
Ms. Reed joined the Jewish
Federation in 1991 as an assis-
tant in the Planning Department.
She later worked in the Endow-
ment Department coordinating
financial tracking, grant and dis-
tribution of endowment gifts.

A Few Good Friends will host
professional Jewish singles (30s
and 40s) to meet for dinner at
Relish, Farmington Hills on
Thursday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. There
