bigail Davidson of West
Bloomfield may or may
not win The Jewish News
annual Chanukah Art
Contest this month, but the 5-
year-old already has won one dis-
tinction:
Her contest entry — a crayon
drawing of a Chanukah meno-
rah — was the first of more than
500 expected in the annual con-
test. Dana Isenstein's was close
behind.
The entry deadline is Tuesday,
Dec. 5, at noon. Youngsters in
four age categories compete for
the chance to have their artwork
appear on the cover of the Dec.
15 Jewish News.
The works and photographs of
the winners and runners-up in
each age group will appear inside
the same issue.
There are cash awards for win-
ners in each age grou s and all

invited to a display of their work
and a Chanukah party at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center on Sunday,
Dec. 17.
JPM staff and volunteers dis-
play as many of the contest en-
tries as possible throughout the
building and mount artwork of
the winners. From 2-4 p.m. on
Dec. 17, JPM and The Jewish
News will host the Mask Puppet
Theatre, a brief art contest
awards program, a family
chanukiot-building contest, re-
freshments and awards to fam-
ilies for the best chanukiot
(menorahs).
Students through age 15 can
still enter the contest. An official
entry blank can be found on a
full-page advertisement in this
issue.
All entries must be delivered
