like to express appreciation to the Past President, Eli Schen
their efforts in realizing the outstanding growth of the JNF during the last 15 years. With the assistance of
the leadership ofJNF and with that of the community, I hope we will continue to merit everyone's support.
Now more than ever before in our history, NF is leading the way in improving the quality of life for all
residents in Israel. The importance in establishing parks and forests offers the necessary respite for both old and young; the
building of roads to access residents in rural settlements; the construction of water reservoirs and other water harvesting pro-
jects; the participation in agricultural experimentation leading to advancements in agricultural technology and methodology
in research ... all have and will continue to make JNF the catalyst agency in providing the quality of life for all Israelis and all of

mankind.
To accomplish the goals cited above, your support will be crucial. I hope we can count on your assistance and I look forward
to the day when peace will reign over Israel and the entire world.

The loss of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is a tragedy for all mankind. We all mourn the passing of Israel's head of
state as if we had lost a member of our own family. Our hearts are filled with sadness and we convey to Leah, the chil-
dren and grandchildren our sincerest wishes of condolence and hope that G-d will comfort The Rabin Family among all
the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
A special Jewish National Fund Project, honoring the memory of Prime Minister Rabin, will be established after the
mourning period.

Mr. Zalenko remarked how im-
portant the Jewish National Fund
is in the JNF works with the land
and the people without concern
for their political or religious bi-
ases. The thrust of JNF is to im-
prove the quality of life for all the
residents of Israel. It is an honor
for him to identify with this 95-
year-old organization which has
hand-planted over 225 million
trees, built hundreds of miles of
roads and has been involved with
all kinds of technical and experi-
mental work. It is involved with the
peace accords.
Dr. Samuel I. Cohen, Executive
Vice President ofJNF of America,
Guest Speaker for the meeting,
elaborated on these same issues
and concerns and gave insight
how the monies ofJNF are need-
ed to ensure peace and tranquili-
ty for all the residents of our
homeland.
