Michigan Region B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization will hold a
bowling program with partici-
pants from Big Brothers/Big Sis-
ters on Sunday, Nov. 5, noon-3
p.m. at Drakeshire Lanes in
Farmington. there will be a
charge for BBYO participants.
The event includes three games
of bowling, shoes and refresh-
ments. This activity is part of the
BBYO Teens Actively Serving
the Community (TASC) pro-

Local BBYO staff will partic-
ipate in the National Staff Con-
ference on Nov. 9-12 in Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla. The conference
will include the first mentoring
session as part of the continuing
staffdevelopment program called
BBYO University.
Michigan Region AZA Coun-
cil Executive Board has ap-
pointed two new chairmen.
Aaron Lazarus of Herzl AZA,
Windsor, was appointed inter-
regional convention chairman;
the convention will take place on
March 29-31, in Milwaukee, Wis.
Danny Krochmal of Kishon AZA
was appointed coordinator of the
AZA Basketball League which
will run from january to April.
The March of the Living Pro-
gram will be held April 14-29, in
Poland and Israel. A series of ed-
ucational sessions will be pro-
vided by the Agency for Jewish
Education to prepare our dele-
gates for this experience. The fol-
lowing BBYO members have
been selected as representatives
to the March of the Living from

Workshop Event
At Adat Shalom
Adat Shalom Synagogue will
present Connections '95, an
evening featuring presenters in
workshops and discussions de-
signed to educate, involve, en-
tertain. The event will take place
at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.
11, at the synagogue.
The evening will begin with a
special Havdalah service, after
which there will be the opportu-
nity to attend two, one-hour pro-
grams. An afterglow, featuring
the music of Anthony Birchett,
will follow.
During the 8 to 9 p.m. session,
Rabbi Efry Spectre of Adat
Shalom and Robert Aronson, ex-
ecutive vice president, Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan De-
troit, will discuss 'Israel: A Jew-
ish State or a State for its
Citizens?" Harlene Appelman,
JFMD director of community out-
reach and involvement, will talk
on "Creating Lasting Values in a
Throw-Away World." Former
Congressman Eric Fingerhut will
take his audience "From USY to
U.S. Congress: Political Realities
in the 90's." Academy Award-
Winning Filmmaker Sue Marx
will focus on "Women in Film."
Weight Watchers President
Florine Mark-Ross will provide
tips on "Kosher and Healthy."
Klezmer Tzvai duo Joe Green-
baum and Larry Bassin will bring
the "Shtelel to the Suburbs" with
Yiddish folk music.
From 9 to 10 p.m. Rabbi Daniel
Nevins of Adat Shalom will take
participants on "A Guide to the
World on Jewish Cyberspace." Dr.
Zvi Gitelman will explore "The
Shape ofJudaism in the 21st Cen-
tury." Dr. Sylvia Hacker's pro-
gram "Sexually Speaking" will
offer a frank discussion on "Cre-
ating Values in a Jewish Home."
Judaica Specialist Arthur Feld-
man will talk about "Jewish Rit-
ual Art." News anchor Sherry
Margolis and advice columnist
Jeffrey Zaslow will provide a be-
hind the scenes look at "Media
Days and Sleepless Nights." Rab-
binic scholar and Masorti leader
Rabbi Reuven Hammer will con-
sider "Jerusalem: 3000 Years of
Jewish Consciousness." Business
and financial columnist Doron
Levin will speak about "The Me-
dia and Its Coverage of Corporate
America."

Machon Talk
At WSU
Machon L'Torah in conjunction
with B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation
of Wayne State University, will
hold a lunchtime mini-conference.
Wednesday, Nov. 8, at noon.
The topic will be "Life with a
Destination-How to Turn
Lemons into Lemonade," led by
Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz. The
