Sinai Health Care Foundation

Tn its third year of operation, the Sinai Health Care Foundation reaches
1 thousands of contributors in the metropolitan area who wish to support Sinai
Hospital's tradition of medical excellence.
The Foundation raises and administers funds to meet the healthcare needs
of the community. Thanks to many generous donors, the Foundation is meet-
ing its mission of providing continued support to Michigan's only Jewish-spon-
sored hospital. Richard Roth chairs the Foundation's Board of Trustees.

Among the Foundation's efforts are:

Sponsors Club. Begun in 1993, this annual membership drive raised more
than $17,000 from 340 donors last year. All $50 membership gifts are listed in
the quarterly Foundation Features.
Founding 500. This special campaign raised $220,000 from 440 donors, each
of whom contributed a minimum of $500. Their names are listed on the Found-
ing 500 Wall of Honor in the Hospital's West Outer Drive lobby.
Heritage BaIL The annual Heritage Ball raises funds for a particular area of
service. The 1995 Heritage Ball was held at the Westin Hotel on October 25.
Proceeds benefit digestive health and the IBD Center. The event honored the
past chairmen of the Sinai Hospital Board of Directors and the founding chair-
men of the Sinai Health Care Foundation.
Endowment Funds. There are many giving opportunities for those who wish
to provide permanent funding for specific services or facilities. Endowment gifts
may also be made in conjunction with the United Jewish Foundation.
Tribute Gifts. Tributes of $5 or more provide a meaningful way to acknowl-
edge a special occasion or memorialize an individual.

For more information, or to request a copy of "The Gift of Medical Excellence"
or Foundation Features, please call the Development Office at (313) 493-5877.
