BERNICE LONDON CONN,
83, former Detroiter of Ot-
tumwa, Iowa, died Sept. 17.
Mrs. Conn was the beloved
wife of the late Dr. Harold
Conn and beloved mother of
the late Dr. Burton Conn. She
was born in Utah and was
raised and lived in Detroit un-
til moving to Ottumwa in 1952.
Mrs. Conn attended the Uni-
veristy of Detroit and the Uni-
versity of Southern California,
during her residency in San
Diego from 1968 - 1994. She
was a lifetime member of
Hadassah and the National
Council of Jewish Women; in
both organizations she held lo-
cal and regional offices.
She is survived by her
daughters and sons-in-law,
Laural and Arnold Sigal of Ot-
tumwa, Joley Anne and Her-
bert Weinstock of Boston, Car-
la and Bernard Cole of Burke,
Va.; nine grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren. Memorial
contributions may be made to
the Bernice Conn Nurses Ap-
preciation Fund, Vista Woods
Care Center, 3 Pennsylvania

GEORGE S. COWEN, 54, of
West Bloomfield, died Oct. 14.
Mr. Cowen was a consulant in
a computer software develop-
ment company. He is survived
and loved by Dr. Jack and Bar-
bara Gold, Michael Gold and
Daniel Gold. Interment at Beth
El Memorial Park. Contribu-
tions may be directed to a char-

DR. DAVID DASKAL, 88, of
Southfield, died Oct. 10. Un-
dergrad work at Wayne Uni-
versity. Graduate of Marquette
University School of Dentistry
in 1932. He practiced in Wyan-
dotte from 1932 until retiring
in 1990. Dr. Daskal was a
member of the B'nai David
Synagogue, Jewish War Veter-
ans, Veterans of Foreign War,
Alpha Omega Dental Fraterni-
ty and Detroit District Dental
Society.
Dr. Daskal was the beloved
husband of the late Bernice. He
is survived by his sons and
daughter-in-law, Joel and Lor-
raine of South Pasadena,
Calif., Neal of Oakland, Calif.;
daughter, Ann Margaret
Daskal of Vancouver, British
Columbia; brothers and sister-
in-law, Albert and Sylvia of
Beachwood, Ohio, Herman of
Southfield; granddaughter,

MAYNARD FEEN, 85, of Hal-
lendale, Fla., died Oct 12. He
was the beloved husband of the
late Bessie Feen. He is sur-
vived by his loving companion,
Mae Forstadt; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Jerome and Arlene
of Hollywood, Fla.; daughters
and son-in-law, Harlene Sosin
of Panorama City, Calif., Shel-
lie and Byron Anchill of Fa/ in-
ington Hills; brother, Daniel of
Hallendale; grandchildren,
Brett, Brooke and Karley An-
chill, Allison and Bonnie Feen,
Randy Sosin, Ilise (Scott) Faye,
Beth (Neal) Schore; great-
grandchildren, Sidney Sosin,
Harley Faye. Services were
held at Clover Hill Park Ceme-
tery Chapel in Birmingham fol-
lowed by interment at the
cemetery. Contributions may

EDWARD FERENTZ, 69, for-
mer Detroiter of Chicago, died
Oct. 10. Mr. Ferentz is sur-
vived by his wife, Barbara;
daughters and son-in-law,
Nicole of Chicago, Barbara and
Mark Corrinet of San Francis-
co; sons, Tom of San Francisco,
Michael Brooks of Chicago; sis-
ters and brothers-in-law, Flo-
rence Lipton of Los Angeles,
Eileen and Marvin Goldman of
Farmington Hills, Betty and
Fred Nederlander of Franklin.

FRIEDA GOLDFINE, 86, for-
mer Detroiter of Ft. Laud-
erdale, died Oct. 8. She is sur-
vived by her sister and
brother-in-law, Ruth and Al-
bert Klaiman; brother and sis-
ter-in-law, David and Rachel
Goldfine, all of Florida.

FANNY GOODMAN, 95, of
West Bloomfield, died Oct 11.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Charles Goodman and
mother of the late Edwin Good-
man. She is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law,
Judge Michael M. and Sandra
of West Bloomfield; brothers
and sisters-in-law, David and
Bernice Norris of Oak Park,
Morris and Kay Goldstein of
