ner to his noted Sheehan burgers,

that had been part of the former O'Shee-
han's menu. Imported beers, frozen trop-

music compliment this casual, fun diner.

Vineyard's Cafe & Catering,

Hills, 855-9463. The all-new Vineyards
is something to see, with both booths and
tables for people to sit with salads galore,
both regular and low fat plus over 50
sandwiches. Also, from Shirlee Bloom's
separate kitchen comes her excellent
preparation of tradition Jewish dishes, us-
ing only kosher products. Shirlee's foods
are available for dining in or carryout.
She is also available for weddings, bar-
bat mitzvahs, showers, etc.

Carthy's restaurant is little short of
amazing, as owners CheY and Dr. Joel
Kimelman continue to please with deli-
cious food at reasonable prices. Their
upscale restaurant is warm, homey and

Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m.
with dishes that include fresh fish, pasta,
breast of duck, rock of lamb, etc. Low
fat and fat free items for the health con-
scious ore also available. Also Tuesday
through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for

Bread Basket Deli, 10 / 1 Mile and
Greenfield, Lincoln Shopping Center,
Oak Park, 968-0022. A favorite of
many people for breakfast, lunch, din-
ner and after-theater, this has the aura
of o modernistic delicatessen so ap-
parent with colorful decor. A children's
menu is featured along with party trays.
The Bread Basket Deli is open Tuesday
through Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Golden Bowl, 22106 Coolidge at
9 Mile, Oak Park, 398-5502. The
knowledge of Chef Frank Eng is wide-
spread in Chinese dining. Golden Bowl
is open seven days, Mon.-Thurs. from
11 a.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. serv-
ing Szechuan, Mandarin and Can-
tonese food. Carry-out service is
available plus banquet facilities.

ORCHARD LAKE

Jake's On The Lake, 4105 Or-
chard Lake Rd., Orchard Lake. 851-
8888. The new restaurant opened by
Opus One bosses, Jim Kokus and Ed
tv\andzaria, is on the former site Ponti-
ac Trail site of Buster's Bay. Dinners only
are served six days, Tuesday-Thursday,
5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Satur-
day, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, 4 p.m.
to 9 p.m., is a sumptuous dinner
buffet, adults $14.95; children 10 and
under, $4.95. Reservations are ac-
cepred for any evening.

LATHRUP

PONTIAC

LaFendi, 27060 Evergreen, Lathrup
Landing, Lathrup, 559-9099. An ele-
gant atmosphere, where all areas are a
different decor make up thiscopular Mid-
dle Eastern restuourant. many of the dish-
es are not found in too many dining spots
of its type. Fresh squeezed fruits and veg-
etables make up the raw juice bar which
people enjoy seven days o week of all
hours.

Pike Street, 18 West Pike Street, Pon-
tiac, 334-7878. This fine dining stand-
by is noted for its excellent cuisine and
service. It features the imaginative pre-
sentations of Executive Chef Darin
Moore, a member of the U.S. Culinary
Olympic team that will compete in 1996
in Berlin. Its wine list and gourmet-styled
menu items present a wide selection from
which to choose. Banquet facilities are
available for all events.

LIVONIA

D. Dennison's Seafood Tavern
of Livonia, 37716 W. 6 Mile, Laurel
Park Place, Livonia, 464-9030. D. Den-
nison's has an established reputation for
moderately-priced seafood from Florida,
Boston and the Great Lakes. The atmos-
phere is lively and informal with a fresh
raw bar and early dining specials. Also
featured are pasta, chicken dishes, sal-
ads and sandwiches, plus a children's
menu.

NOVI

Ah Wok, 41563 W. 10 Mile Rd.,
Novi Plaza, Novi, 349-9260. Rated
among the top gourmet Chinese restau-
rants in this area, Ah \Nok is also still a
big favorite on standard traditional din-
ing. For years, adventurous customers
have enjoyed the elaborate offerings with
their imaginative style d preparation which
have proven delightful palate-pleasers.

said about this dine in and carry-out

received much attention, but as regular
customers say, the proof is in the tasting.
It's open seven days, Sun.-Thurs. 11-10,
Fri. & Sat. 11-11.

SOUTI-UTELD

Alia's, 27167 Greenfield, Southfield,
559-8222. A good family restaurant
serving American and Lebanese cuisine,
Alia's owners Dania and Ed Farah are
proud of their homemade specialties pre-
pared from natural ingredients. It is open
7 days a week serving breakfast, lunch
and dinner. Carrrout of its entire menu
is available as is off-premise catering.
