all claims that immigrants over

Jerusalem — Ofra Aqua Plants
has developed a totally new con-
cept in growing flora for both
ponds and aquariums. Located
in the Galilee, the Israeli compa-
ny has built the world's first hy-
drosolar greenhouse.
Computers are used to ensure
optimal conditions of sun and wa-
ter inside the greenhouse and
control factors like humidity and
the temperature of the water, air
and soil. The result is strong,
high-quality and healthy flora,
and a diverse range of plants in-
cluding pond favorites such as the
water lily and rare and expensive
tropical and subtropical species.
hi addition to the most popu-
lar pond and aquarium plants in
Europe, America and the Far
East, the company has developed

some attractive hybrids . of its
own, including a plant called
"Ofra" which has an attractive
large green leaf with red veins.
"We are committed to chemi-
cal-free production," stresses Yael
Cohen, co-founder of the firm,
"and we are located in a region
far from industry. We use no pes-
ticides or herbicides and run a
completely organic farm. Conse-
quently, our plants are extreme-
ly safe for all living organisms in
either fish tanks or ponds."
The Israeli climate is especially
favorable for growing pond plants
for supply well before the season
begins in more northern climates.
Furthermore, the organic nature
in which Ofra's plants are grown
reassures customers who are in-
creasingly anxious about inad-
vertently introducing diseases
into their pond and water tank
eco-systems through acquiring
unhealthy plants. Cl
