Certified Babysitting is a class
for 11 year olds and up. The class
teaches basic first aid, general
child care, how to handle emer-
gency situations; it is Red Cross
certified. Instructor Michelle
Pryslac and Kellie Stamper be-
gin this class Monday, Oct. 23,
4-5:30 p.m. at the Applebaum
Parenting Center.
In Systematic Training for Ef-
fective Parenting, instructor
Brenda Strausz discusses why
children misbehave and specific
techniques to help solve these
problems. Mondays beginning
Oct. 23 from 7-8:30 p.m. This is
appropriate for a parents of pre-
school aged children. All mate-
rials are provided
Great Jewish Ideas explores
the Torah, oral tradition, Pirke
Avot and more. Bring a dairy
lunch; a beverage will be pro-
vided. The class will be led by
Rabbi Irwin Groner, Rabbi
William Gershon, Rabbi Leonar-
do Bitran and Michael Wolf

Days is designed for first-time

is for people who want to learn
about the morning Shabbat ser-

Oct. 18. Participants should
bring up to 12 photos of the same

is an exercise class for moms

Grandparent Connection gives
ideas for spending time togeth-

Challah Days will be Friday,

how to make a challah to take
home and bake.

Machon Hosts
Two Talks

Machon L'Torah will hold a pro-
gram on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 7:30
p.m. for the Russian outreach di-
vision. The program will start
with educational lecture by Rab-
bi Avraham Jacobovitz on "Rosh
Hashanah-Its Meaning to the
Modern Jew." Mr. Roman
Lundin will translate the lecture
into Russian simultaneously.
The event will be held at Machon
L'Torah, 15221 W. Ten Mile Rd.,
Oak Park. Refreshments will be
served. There is no charge.
In addition, Machon will hold
a deli luncheon at Oakland Uni-
versity on Monday, Oct. 2, at
noon. Rabbi Jacobovitz will lead
a discussion on "The Nobility of
Accountability." There is no
charge.

Radomer Society
Memorial Service

The Radomer Mutual Society of
Detroit will hold its annual
memorial service Sunday, Oct.
1, at 11 a.m. at Chesed Shel
Emes Cemetery.
Rabbi Herbert Yoskowitz will
conduct the service and will be
joined by Cantor Max Shiman-
sky. Approximately 30,000 Jews
from the Radom areaperished
during the Holocaust.
