NAME: Sean Teeple
TEAM: Detroit Maccabi track
DEED: Teeple, a 14-year-old eighth-
grader at Berkshire Middle School
in Bit iningham, recently partici-
pated in his third Maccabi Games.
Teeple brought home four me& Is
in track this year and nine alto-
gether over the past three years.
In August in Los Angeles, he re-
ceived a gold for the 200-meter
run, which he ran in 25.2.
Along with three teammates,
Teeple also earned a gold for the
4-by-100 meter relay and the 4-by-
400 meter relay. In addition, he
won a silver in the 100-meter run,
with a time of 12.3.
In the 1994 Maccabi Games in
Cleveland, he earned four bronze
medals. In 1993, in St. Louis, he
won a gold medal in the 4-by-100
meter relay.
THE SKINNY: This will be Teeple's
third year playing power-forward
for Berkshire's basketball team.
He began his interest in track at
age 12, after a basketball coach
said he was fast and should try out
for the track team.
Teeple has placed first in every
race he has entered since sixth
grade at Berkshire. In addition,
he is an avid skateboarder and
drum player. Teeple is also lead
vocalist in a local punk rock band.

QUOTE: "I am hoping that my track
abilities could one day, possibly,
help me earn a scholarship to col-
lege," Teeple said. "Receiving the
Maccabi medals was an inde-
scribable feeling. Before the races,
I was nervous, but after running
and winning, I felt a great sense
of accomplishment."

He is a member of the B'nai
B'rith Youth Organization and
also involved in Temple Emanu-
El's youth group. Teeple has a 3.5
G.P.A. and plan s o n joining the

The Metropolitan De-
troit B'nai B'rith Bowl-
ing Association
(MDBBBA) recently in-
stalled officers for the
1995-96 season. Larry
Schlussel will serve a
second term as presi-
dent of the organiza-
tion.
The MDBBBA is
composed of seven
B'nai B'rith
leagues,which bowl one night a
week, Sunday through Thursday.
