Opera star Roberta Peters re-
cently sang hymns of remem-
brance for a U. S. national
mission audience in "The Valley
of Lost Communities"— during a
visit to the Yad Vashem Holo-
caust Memorial.
The mission members were in
Israel to commemorate the 25th
Anniversary of Ben-Gurion Uni-
versity of the Negev.
Standing atop a monument to
the destroyed Babi Yar, Ms. Pe.:
ters sang "Es Brent" ("It Burns")
followed by a musical rendition
of "The 23rd Psalm."
Guild Plans
Art Fair
Artist applications are now avail-
able for the 1995 Holiday Art
Fair, presented by the Michigan
Guild of Artists and Artisans, or-
ganizers of the Ann Arbor Sum-
mer Art Fair. Exhibitors will be
invited to show their fine art and
contemporary crafts at Oakland
Community College in Farming-
ton Hills on Dec. 9 -10.
The deadline for artists to sub-
mit slides for jurying is Aug. 31.
