Pollak Can Sell In The U.S.

Jerusalem — Pharmaceutical
manufacturer HG Pollak has
been granted permission by the
U.S. Food and Drug Adminis-
tration to sell its products in the
United States.
HG Pollak manufactures
medical equipment, gloves and
surgical dressings, notably Gel-
X, a vaginal lubricant contain-
ing a known active ingredient
which destroys the AIDS virus
during sexual contact.

W}n Settle For 80%?

Gel-X is not an AIDS cure.
Over the past two years the
company has been embroiled in
conflict with the Health Min-
istry concerning the sale of Gel-
X, which has not received
approval and is not available on
the local market.
The company is reportedly in
the process of building a plant
for the manufacture of Gel-X in

Card Replacement Due To Forgery

Jerusalem — Local banks have
requested hundreds of Gold
MasterCard credit card holders
to replace their cards following
the discovery of a U.S. group
that forged the cards' metallic
strip.
Eurocard has instructed local
banks to cancel all credit cards
carrying the same series mun-
ber as the forged cards. The in-
structions were given after U.S.

authorities discovered a small
number of credit cards had been
forged and misused.
As a result, the banks are re-
placing the cards and request-
ing card holders to review their
monthly expense record for any
irregularities.
The spokesman added that
customers will be covered for all
damages.
