On CRUSY Board
Four of the six newly elected
Central Region USY Executive
Board members are from the De-
troit area. David Salama, presi-
dent; Aaron Fidler, executive vice
president; Mindy Glazier, mem-
bership vice president; and Car-
rie Apsel, communications vice
president, were recently elect-
ed at the Regional Convention.
Recently appointed by the ex-
ecutive board to serve on the
CRUSY General Board from the
Detroit area are: Marcia Gordon,
Camp CRUSY co-chair and
Leadership Training Institute;
Aaron Averbuch, Israel affairs;
Devra Wanetick, Israel affairs;
Michael Sternberg, world affairs;
Jeremy Fogel, regional conven-
tion '96 co-chair; Michael
Schostak, religious service pro-
grammer; Aaron Herskovic, se-
nior programming; Mindy Nigoff,
senior programming; Tracye Bel-
low, GDUSY representative; and
Henry Rosenbaum, Internet
communications representative.
The executive board and gen-
eral board members and chapter
presidents from all of CRUSY
will meet in columbus, Ohio, for
Summer boards June 19-21.

NCSY Youth
Are Elected
Sarah Chopp, an 11th grade stu-
dent at Southfield Lathrup High
School, was elected president of
the Central East/Kesser Torah
Region of NCSY (National Con-
ference of Synagogue Youth) at
the 27th annual Regional Con-
vention held recently at Camp
Emma Kaufman in Morgan-
town, W. Va. Ms. Chopp had pre-
viously held the position of
regional first vice president as
well as vice president of the
Darchei Noam Detroit chapter.
Also, at the convention, local
teens Shana Kleinfeldt (trea-
surer) and Jana Wolock (vice
president of publications) won
board positions.
In addition to the elections, a
number of local NCSY'ers were
recognized for their efforts and
commitment to NCSY. They are:
meritorious service - Michael
Hochbaum; Nechama Hoch-
baum - Torah commitment;
Geoffrey Dworkin, Ronit Folk,
Miriam Gormezano,Ami Gold-
fein, Joel Kirzner and Debbie
