Renaissance

DAVE EPSTEIN, a senior at An-
dover High School, helped his
team win a Class B regional track
championship at Warren Fitzger-
ald on May 17.
Epstein took first in the 200 me-
ters (23.3 seconds), second in the
100 (11.2) and anchored the win-
ning 4x200 relay. Andover com-
petes in the Class B state meet in
Midland on June 3.
MARCI LYNN and EWE
ICHELYAVICH helped Andover's
girls to a second-place finish in the
same meet. In the 4x800 relay,
Khlyavich opened with a 2:34.9
and Lynn anchored with a per-
sonal best 2:28.5 as the team fin-
ished second in 10:26.3.
Lynn finished third in the open
800 in 2:36 and Khlyavich finished
second in the 3200 (12:04).
JESSICA FIELDS finished
fifth in the 1600 (6:02) and ERI-
CA FORST ran on Andover's
4x200 relay.

LAUREN WOLFE is graduat-
ing from Okemos High School,
having wrestled in 100 high-school
matches (99 of them against boys).
In May, she won all five of her
matches in the 65 kilogram (143
pound) class at the U.S. Women's
Nationals in Las Vegas.
Lauren will compete at the U.S.
Women's World Team Trials in
Oklahoma on June 21 in hopes of
qualifying for the world champi-
onships in Moscow in September.
She will also attend Cornell Uni-
versity in the fall, majoring in bi-
ological sciences (pre-medical).

season as catcher for the North
Farmington High baseball team.
Light drove inthe winning run in
an extra-inning game against
Livonia Stevenson on May 15 and
had five runs batted in on a grand-
slam home run, double and a walk
in a losing effort against Groves.
Against Harrison on May 22,
T ,ight threw out four of six runners
attempting to steal. He batted in
the first run and scored the win-
ning run in North's 4-3 win over
Farmington on May 16.

JULIUS SPIELBERG of South-
field won the 5,000 race walk for
ages 90-94 at the U.S. National
Senior Sports Classic V in San An-
tonio. PHILIP HOROWITZ of
West Bloomfield won the age 55-
59 bowling competition.
