To Swim Wins
Richard Gale of the Jewish Com-
munity Center masters swim-
ming team won three events in
the Michigan Masters state
meet.
Gale, 72, captured the 50
breaststroke in 49.37, the 100
breaststroke in 1:54.56 and the
200 breaststroke in 4:07.17.
Among other JCC masters
swimmers:
Mark Gruskin, 42, was ninth
in the 500 freestyle in 7:46.52,
10th in the 1000 and 1650
freestyle in 15:45.61 and 26:03.61
and 11th in the 200 freestyle in
2:57.90.
Steven Seligson, 48, was
fourth in the 500 freestyle in
6:36.91 and sixth in the 200
freestyle in 2:28.64. Jeffrey Levitt
was 12th in the 200 freestyle in
2:16.60.
Gale was sixth in his age
group (70-74) among Michigan
Masters swimmers with 26.7
miles swum during the month of
February. Jerry Chandler, 36, of
the JCC team was fifth in 35-39
with 85.14 miles and Gruskin
was 31st in 40-44 with 34.06
miles.

The July 14-16 competition

round-robin format depending
upon the number of entrants.
