vices Division Dinner honoring
Dr. Daniel E. Schechter and Dr.
Jerry A. Taylor.
Dr. Nurnberger, vice president
for Federal Affairs and manager
of the Washington office of the
public affairs firm of
Conkling, Fiskum and Mc-
Cormick, also has worked as di-
rector of Congressional affairs for
the Bureau of Export Adminis-
tration at the Department of
Commerce. For over eight years,
he served as a legislative intern
for AIPAC, specializing in bud-
get, arms sales, foreign aid to Is-
rael and peace-process related
issues. Prior to joining AIPAC, he
served on the staff of the Senate
Foreign Relations Committee.
Dr. Nurnberger is the author
of a study on the West Bank and

Jewish Federation Apartments
will honor on Sunday, May 7, the
1995 winners of the second an-
nual Eight Over Eighty Senor
Adult Jewish Hall of Fame
Awards: Lillian Colman, Rabbi
Eric Greenbaum, Esther LaMed,
Milton Marwil, Anna Mickel,
Emma Schaver, Dr. Milton Stein-
hardt and Josephine Weiner.
The awards celebration will
take place at 1 p.m. at Jewish
Federation Apartments, Oak
Park. The celebration is open to
the public and there is no charge
to attend.
The honorees were chosen for

their achievement of embodying
the beliefs and values of the
Chanukah story: "Working to
maintain and strengthen Jewish
identity. Dedicating oneself to a
belief of cause. Facing challenges
and taking risks to promote a
cause. Making a difference by
leading a few in victory over
many."
Those eligible for the awards
must be members of the metro-
politan Detroit community who
are age 80 or over and are people
who continue to make a differ-
ence in the community.

County Holds
Spring Auction

The county of Oakland's Annual
Spring Auction of the Sheriffs
Department will be held at 10
a.m. on May 6, behind the coun-
ty's Central Garage on the ser-
vice center, 1200 N. Telegraph
Road, Pontiac.
Going up for sale on the auc-
tion block will be a number of
quality items including brand
name tools, bicycles, stereo equip-
ment and jewelry. Nearly 70 late-
model General Motors vehicles
will be auctioned off.
The public will be able to view
and inspect the vehicles on Fri-
day, May 5, between 9 a.m. and
4 p.m.
