run-scoring double in a 6-4 vic-
tory over Southfield-Lathrup on
April 28.
GOLF
SIMON GALED threw a no-hit-
ter for the Berkley High School
baseball team in his first varsi-
ty start. Galed, who pitched just
five innings because of the mer-
cy rule in Berkley's 10-0 win over
Ferndale on April 24, struck out
seven and walked two.

JUSTIN SCHULTZ earned a
save in relief and he had two hits
in the West Bloomfield baseball
team's 6-5 victory over Berkley
on April 28. BLAIR GOT-
TLIEB knocked in a run for
West Bloomfield.
NTIKI BERLIN was the winning
pitcher in the Berkley softball
team's 13-7 victory over Royal
Oak Dondero in the second game
of an April 28 doubleheader. In
the opener, an 11-9 triumph for
Dondero, Berlin had five stolen
bases, four hits and three RBI.
Berlin had four hits and she
scored two runs, but Berkley lost
14-9 to Groves in a first game of
an April 27 twin bill. Berlin had
Berkley's lone hit in a 12-0 loss
to Hazel Park on April 24.

STONE of Bloomfield Hills An-
dover High School outlasted
Rochester's Al Burnat and Tom
Markham 6-7, 7-5, 6-1 for the No.
1 doubles championship in the
Rochester Invitational boys ten-
nis tournament held April 29.
Andover won two other flight
titles, giving the Barons three of
the eight crowns. MIKE
BROWN defeated Rochester's
Mike Evans 6-2, 6-1 for the No.
4 singles title and DAVE
GOLDEN and JEFF SOLO-
MAN beat Rochester's Tom Al-
lard and Dan Webber 6-3, 6-2 for
the No. 3 doubles championship.
