Burr Play
At Purple Rose
The Purple Rose Theatre Com-
pany will produce Hang the
Moon, a new drama by Suzanne
Burr, for an eight-week limited
engagement of performances
through May 21. Performances
will be Wednesdays through Sat-
urdays at 8 p.m. with Sunday
shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. All
performances are at the Purple
Rose Theatre Company's Garage
Theatre, 137 Park Street,
Chelsea.
Tickets vary from $10 to $25.
Preview prices range from $10 to

Alma Smith
Concert Set
The Cultural Arts Division of
Southfield Parks and Recreation
will present the Alma Smith
Quintet on Sunday, April 23, at
3:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel,
in Southfield. This afternoon con-
cert is part of the Concerts-in-the-
Garden series and will feature
a High Tea at 3 p.m.
Alma Smith is proficient at the
keyboards and a vocalist and
composer as well. She has had an
active career spanning over 50
years playing, singing, compos-
ing.
Tickets for the appearance are
available at the Mary Thompson
Cultural Center. Tickets for the
High Tea along with reserved
seating for the concert are $7.50.

Dance Theatre
Plans Concert
Ten dances will premiere at the
Oakland Dance Theatre's annual
winter concert, performed at
Oakland University's Varner
Studio Theatre on the univer-
sity's campus in Rochester on
April 14 and 15. The student-
choreographed concert titled
Spontaneous Combustion will be
presented by Oakland Univer-
sity's Department of Music, The-
atre and Dance.
Nine of the eclectic mixes of
dance were choreographed at OU.
Show times for Friday and Sat-
urday are 8 p.m.; the Saturday
matinee begins at 3 p.m. Call the
