Mr. Stein is survived by his
wife, Vivien of Southfield; sons
and daughters-in-law, Michael
and Kathy of Oak Park, Daniel
Stein and Deborah Kass of
Oakton, Va.; daughters and
sons-in-law, Nancy and Dr.
Donald Sandweiss of Bonita,
Calif., Sharon and Dr. Samuel
Sandweiss of San Diego; grand-
children, Ruth, Rachel, Beth,
Judy, Deborah and David
Sandweiss, Sharon and Rachel
Stein. Also survived by his
step-children, Peter and Shel-
ley Cooper, Mary Ann and Ted
Simon and their children, Lisa
and Mitchell Heller, Marla
Cooper, Mark and Susan Si-
mon, Julie and Steven Sher-
rard and Scott and Laura Si-
mon; five great-grandchildren.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Arrangements by the Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

DAVID STEINMAN, 83, of
Bloomfield Hills, died March
22. In 1937, Mr. Steinman be-
came the founder of Walker In-
ternational, Inc., which was one
of the first American companies
to import sporting goods from
the Orient.
Mr. Steinman was responsi-
ble for establishing the baseball
glove industry in Japan. He
was a member of the National
Sporting Goods Association and
the Amnerican Fishing Tackle
Manufacturers Association. Mr.
Steinman was an active sup-
porter of the Detroit Institute of
Arts, the Detroit Symphony,
JARC, Probus, the Sol Needle-
man Foundation. He was a
member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
Mr. Steinman is survived by
his wife of 52 years, Ethel
Steinman; sons and daughters-
in-law, Howard and Barbara of
New Rochelle, N.Y., Kenneth
and Frances of Birmingham;
grandchildren, Rachel, Susan,
Joshua and Amy Steinman;
brother, Abraham "Red" and
Martha of West Bloomfield; sis-
ters-in-law and brother-in-law,
Lillian Schwartz Gold, Rosalee
Scott and David and Jane
Schwartz.
Interment was in Clover Hill
Park Cemetery, Birmingham.
Arrangements by the Ira Kauf-
man Chapel.

NACHMAN TEVLO, 82, of
Oak Park, died March 22. He is
survived by his wife, Ethel; son
and daughter-in-law, Irvin and
Margo of Oak Park; daughters
and son-in-law, Eva and
Michael Masich of New York,
Judy Schrieber of Oak Park;

Southfield, died March 25. Mrs.
Traub was the beloved wife of
the late Harry Traub. She is
survived by her daughters and
son-in-law, Zella Burstein of
Oak Park, Sarah and Allen
Wainstock of Novi; grandchil-
dren, Neal and Jan Wainstock,
Robert Wainstock, Marcia and
David Kaplan, Judy and Ken
Smith; great-grandchildren; Al-
lison, Scott, Garrett, Stuart,
Michael and Barry Wainstock;
Stephanie and Jeffrey Kaplan,
Brian Burstein. Contributions
may be directed to a charity of
one's choice. Services and inter-
ment were held at Nusach Hari
Cemetery in Ferndale.

ANNIE ZALMAN, 88, of West
Bloomfield, died March 28.
Mrs. Zalman was the beloved
wife of the late John Zalman.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Judie and
Larry Weisman of West Bloom-
field, Sandie and Bob Weiss of
West Bloomfield; grandchil-
dren, Sara and Ben Young,
David Weisman, Aaron and
Zachary Weiss; sister-in-law,
Esther Goodman and brother-
in-law, George Zalman. Inter-
ment at Hebrew Memorial
