Nursing Home
Staff Workshop

The LeVine Institute on Aging
and Hospice of Southeastern
Michigan will present an educa-
tional workshop for staffs of nurs-
ing homes in the tricounty area
who care for Jewish residents.
This workshop will take place on
Thursday, March 30, at 9 a.m. at
the Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield. The workshop will ex-
plain the importance for nursing
home staffs to be sensitive to Jew-
ish residents' special needs. Pre-
senters include: Rabbi Avie
Shapiro, director of religious ac-
tivities at the Jewish Home for
Aged, discussing general Jewish
traditions; Rabbi Boruch Levine,
executive director of the Hebrew
Memorial Chapel, discussing Jew-
ish customs and traditions of fu-
nerals and mourning; Rabbi E.B.
("Bunny") Freedman, director of
planning and director of Jewish
Hospice Service, discussing the
cultural spectrum of Judaism and
Jewish hospice services; Gloria
Bender, Project Outreach coordi-
nator of the Jewish Vocational
Service, discussing outreach and
advocacy; Carol Rosenberg, as-
sistant director of the Jewish
Home for Aged and administra-
tor of the Fleischman Resi-
dence/Blumberg Plaza, discussing
the nursing home experience for
a Jewish resident.

The Adult Education Commission
of Congregation B'nai Moshe will
present Pesach Potpourri on Mon-
day, March 27, from 7:30-9:15 p.m.
at the synagogue. The theme for
the evening is "Why Is This
Evening Different?" The group
will view a Haggadot collection
while listening to Pesach music.
The Judaica Gift Shop will be
open. Rabbi Elliot Pachter and
Cantor Klein will offer sugges-
tions on how to customize a seder.
