everal Detroiters traveled
to California recently not
just to catch some sunlight
but to celebrate the double
50th wedding anniversaries of
former Detroiters Edith and
Bob Tannenbaum of Carmel
and Aaron and Nora Lazaroff
of Encino.
Edith Tannenbaum and
Aaron Lazaroff are siblings.
Their sister is philanthropist
Emma Lazaroff Schaver of
Southfield, who attended the
event.
The couples were married at
the end of World War II.
Edith and Bob Tannenbaum
were married Feb. 4, 1945, af-
ter a whirlwind courtship of
seven days. They married in
Los Angeles but lived in De-
troit for a few months when
Bob returned from the ser-
vice. Aaron and Nora Kort
Lazaroff met and courted for
seven years in Detroit. They
were both members of
Habonim and were married
on Jan. 15, 1945.
,The anniversary party was
planned long distance by
Judith Tannenbaum of
Berkeley, Calif., and Debbie
.
Kort and two granddaughters,
Alexis and Rachel of Seattle.
