Purim Shpiel

The Workmen's Circle/Arbeter
Ring Nursery School and Sunday
School will hold a benefit perfor-
mance of PuppetArt Purim shpiel
Sunday, March 19, from 10-11
a.m., 11:30-12:30 p.m. at the

seasonal, Hebrew and Yiddish
melodies on Sunday, March 19,
3 p.m. at the synagogue. The con-
cert and refreshments to follow
are free. Reservations are rec-
ommended and can be made by

Co-sponsored by the city of
Southfield, the Bel Canto Choral
Society is a group of 30 women
singers led by Eugene Branstrom
and accompanied by pianist
Rochelle Barr.

Two-Part Program

Purim puppet

peteers and artisans trained in
the former Soviet Union.

Maple-Drake
Plans Events

Maple/Drake Jewish Communi-
ty Center will present Premier
Brass in concert on Sunday,
March 19, at 3 p.m. The group
fuses experiences in jazz, rock
and classical. Advance tickets are
on sale at Maple/Drake and JPM.
The JCC in conjunction with
Berkley Tours and Ken Lawrence
will present British Highlights,
a tour of London, Oxford,
Blenheim, Stratford and more in-
cluding Jewish highlights of Lon-
don's Jewish Historical Museum.
The tour will take place on May
25 through June 3, round trip via
British Airways. Ken TAwrence,
of the CIA's World Adventure Se-
ries and now on Continental Ca-
bleVision, will accompany the
tour. For further information and

Bel Canto
Gives Concert

Congregation Beth Shalom's Cul-
tural Commission will present
the Bel Canto Choral Society in
a concert of Broadway, classical,

Shaarey Zedek Productions will
present in March a two-part pro-
gram. The first part is a preview
of Miracle Mission Two, which
will happen during May. Geri
Levit, host and producer of the
telecast, interviews Ron Klein,
co-chair of the Mission, and Sue
Prady, a new participant who has
never visited Israel.
The second part of the telecast
is a concert presented by the
Shaarey Zedek Choir directed by
Eugene Zweig and introduced by
Cantor Chaim Najman. The choir
presents a program of Chasidic
music in honor of Jewish Music
Month.
All programs can be seen mul-
tiple times a month and can be
found in the Shaarey Zedek Li-
brary. The television program is
recorded at the facilities of Con-
tinental Cable Corporation in
West Bloomfield. Following is the
schedule for March.

p.m. March 16, 23, 30.

Deb Filler
At Maple-Drake

Performance artist Deb Filler will
present her one woman show
"Punch Me In The Stomach," Sat-
urday and Sunday, March 11-12,
as part of the Jewish Communi-
ty Center's Encore Series. Shows
will be 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 2
and 7 p.m. on Sunday, and will
be held at the Aaron DeRoy The-
ater at Maple/Drake.
Ms. Filler takes experiences as
the daughter of Holocaust sur-
vivors and weaves them with her
contemporary worldview to cre-
ate a 90 minute one-woman
show.
All seats are reserved. Tickets
can be purchased by calling the
JCC, 661-7634.
