than 100 women at the Business
and Professional Women's Divi-
sion meeting last week at the
Birmingham Community House.
She wants to change sex edu-
cation.
She says that currently stu-
dents learn about reproductive
anatomy instead of human sen-
suality. With wit and wisdom,
she said the current teaching
methods are like organ recitals
and the relentless pursuit of the
fallopian tubes. She receives
mail from teen-agers all over the
country and she has never had
one student ask about a fallopian
tube. "If you concentrate on sen-
suality, we can learn not to be at
risk."
She also talked about how "it's
not OK to be anti-gay," and ho-
mophobia. This was her second
appearance at a B & P meeting.
Sandy Goosen and Leslie
Stein were chairmen of the
event, while Dorie Shwedel,
Susan Moiseev, Laura Ber-
man and Helene White helped
with the programming.
