Rainbows-Living and Dealing
with Change (W5-13)
This program is for children ages five
through sixteen, and their parents who are
coping with the changes due to divorce or
separation. When a divorce occurs, the
child grieves in his own way. "Rainbows" is
designed to help children come to a healthy
understanding of what has happened to the
family. This is accomplished with the
assistance of trained, nurturing adults in a
secure environment. The parent education
group focuses on parenting issues affected by
the changes in family dynamics such as:
stress on single parents; identifying feelings;
and positive parenting skills. The parent
group will meet at the same time as the
children. This is offered in conjunction with
the National Council of Jewish Women.
