B'nai B'rith
Plans Events

The Leadership Network of B'nai
B'rith is planning many events
in December for Jewish single
and married adults in their 20s
and 30s. Enjoy a relaxing cup of
coffee and mingle with friends for
a coffee hour at Lonestar (on
Woodward next to the Birming-
ham Theater) on Dec. 13 from 7-
9 p.m.
Join to help prepare and serve
a meal to the homeless adults at
the Detroit Rescue Mission on
Dec. 18. Meet at the B'nai B'rith
office, 1600 W. 13 Mile Road, at
1:30 p.m. Donations of canned
food and winter clothing are also
needed. Drop off donations at the
B'nai B'rith office or call Steve Co-
hen, 356-7100, to arrange a pick-
up with the senior residents of
the Federation Apartments —
Teitel building will continue Dec.
21 at 7:30 pm. with a sing-along.
Attention basketball players!
The Leadership Network is in the
process of forming a basketball
league which will meet every
Sunday morning beginning in
January. Call Jeff Cymerint, 358-
0967, for information.

Machon Offers
Lecture Series

Machon L'Torah has opened up
the fall semester for the Jewish
History Lecture Series. The next
program will be an educational
lecture presented by Rabbi
Shmuel Irons, dean, Kollel Insti-
tute of Greater Detroit, on "Di-
aspora." The event will be held
Dec. 17 at Machon L'Torah,
15221 W. Ten Mile Rd., Oak
Park. The lectures will be given
every other Saturday evening at
9 p.m. There is a charge.

Rabbi Lange
Gives Talk

Rabbi Yosef Lange will be the
guest speaker at a special pro-
gram sponsored by Young Israel
of West Bloomfield Dec. 11. Rab-
bi Lange, a sofer, will explain how
to determine whether if tefillin
or mezuzot are kosher according
to Jewish law.
The program will begin at 9
a.m. with davening, followed by
breakfast. Rabbi Lange will give
his presentation at 10:30 a.m.
There is a charge.
