exchange between regions in Is-
rael and corresponding U.S. Jew-
ish communities.
Detroit's sister region is the
central Galilee, a diversely pop-
ulated area of about 83,000 Jews.
`The activities in our Partner-
ship 2000 area are going to pro-
vide a tremendous amount of
excitement and opportunity for
Detroiters," said Peter Alter, co-
chair with Stuart Hertzberg of
