The Jewish Federation Apart-
ments, in conjunction with
The Jewish News and Morrison
Restaurants Inc., is solicit-
ing nominations for the
second annual Eight Over 80
Jewish Senior Hall of Fame
awards.
Eight Over 80, which is being
honored with the Jewish Pro-
gram of the Year Award from
North American Association
of Jewish Homes and Housing
for the Aging, seeks to recog-
nize seniors who "embody the
beliefs and values of the
Chanukah story," according to
JFA program administrator
Joyce Bichler.
Honorees are chosen based on
their efforts to maintain and
strengthen Jewish identity,
their dedication to a cause,
how they face challenges and
take risks to promote that
cause, and the way in which
they have made a difference by
leading a "few" in victory over
"many."
The first Eight Over 80
awards were presented last year
at Prentis Towers in Oak Park.
Some 375 persons attended
the gala event, which honored
Harry August, Clara Collens,
Ruth Redstone, Hortense Falk,
Rose L. Greenberg, Neil Kalef,
Arthur Lipsitt and Dorothy
Storchan. The honorees were
chosen from more than 40 nom-
inations.

of themselves to the Jewish
community, as well as high-
