The Laker Chanukah Concerts, from their incep-
tion, have brought a more festive approach to the
local observance' of Chanukah. The concerts also
make our community aware of the rich heritage of
music that has been created as an aesthetid
response to Jewish festivals and events in history.
They also serve to effectively bolster the Jewish
identity of our young people, many of whom have
been inundated with music from other religions all
their lives.
