The Psychology of Anti-Semitism,
a lecture discussion series, will
be presented by John Hartman
Tuesdays, Nov. 1-29, at the
Washtenaw County Jewish Com-
munity Center, from 7:30 to 9
p.m.
A clinical associate professor
of psychology in the University of
Michigan Department of Psychi-
atry, Mr. Hartman is research-
ing German anti-Semitic films in
the Nazi era and plans to write a
book on this topic. He is especially
interested in understanding the
role of propaganda in anti-Semi-
tism.
The series will consist of five
one and a half hour meetings
with the following topics:
• Introduction: the scope of the
problem and a multi-dimensional
approach;
• History and Psychohistory
of anti-Semitism;
• The Individual and Psycho-
pathology;
• The Summing Up: the multi-
dimensional and the outlook for
the future.
The Psychology of Anti-Semi-
tism is free and open to the
