munity's afternoon and congre-
gational schools will learn new
songs, games and lesson ideas
about teaching tzedakah and will
create original tzedakah boxes at
an Agency for Jewish Education
Workshop, "Tzedakah: Beyond
the Blue Box" Oct. 13 from 7 - 9
p.m. at the AJE.
The workshop will provide
teachers with materials to cre-
atively teach about tzedakah in
their classrooms. Participants are
also encouraged to bring their
own original tzedakah boxes with
them to share with the other ed-
ucators. The workshop, which is
part of the AJE's yearly NIRTM
Professional Enrichment Pro-
gram for Jewish Educators is free
of charge.

B'rith is planning many events
in October for metro Detroit's
Jewish single and married pro-
fessionals in their 20s and 30s.
On Oct. 9, family and friends
will enjoy a day of apple picking
at Erwin's Apple Orchards in

Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of Metro De-
troit District, Zionist Organiza-
tion of America will be held Oct.
9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zionist Cul-
tural Center in Southfield.
