THE JEWISH NEWS

New York — Members of EL AL
Israel Airlines' King David Club
and Frequent Travelers Club,
Matmid, are able to reserve spe-
cific seat assignments in first,
business and economy class up
to 30 days in advance of their
flight (reservations may be placed
at an earlier date). This new ser-
vice is available for all EL AL
flights system wide.
Club members are also able to
upgrade tickets they purchase
from coach class to business class
or full fare business class to first
class. There are no blackout dates
for upgrading and bonus points
are earned on the purchased por-
tion of the ticket.
EL AL is the only airline op-
erating 747-400 Boeing aircraft
between the United States and
Israel. Each seat in coach, busi-
ness and first class has a personal
TV monitor and an electronic
stereo headset. The 747-400's are
equipped with the latest tech-
nology available in aviation.
To better service physically
challenged passengers, EL AL Is-
rael Airlines has improved its
ELALIFT. This new lift is a spe-
cial device used to transport phys-
ically challenged passengers from
the terminal to the aircraft at
Ben-Gurion Airport.
The ELALIFT offers air-con-
ditioning, music, carpeted floors
and extra insulation from noise
and weather for added comfort
and can accommodate six pas- ,
sengers.
For flight information or to re-
ceive a club membership appli-
cation, call EL AL Israel Airlines
at (800) 223-6700 or (212) 768-
9200; or fax the request to (212)
