The bride's sister, Laura
Rubino, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sherry Kris-
toff, Ruby Lascano and the sisters
of the groom, Cheryl Fellows and
Lisa Mittleman. The best man
was Dean Singer. Ushers were
David Fellows, David Mittleman,
Daniel Cohen and Brad Rosen-
feld.
Following a honeymoon in
Hawaii, the couple will reside in
St. Louis.
Lisa Rubino and Douglas Velick
were married recently at the
Guest Quarter Suite Hotel in
Santa Monica, Calif. Reverend
Richard Behar of Southfield
officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Dennis and Linda Harris of Bur-
bank, Calif., and the late Russ
Rubino. The groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Velick of
Sherman Oaks, Calif., formerly
of Southfield.

Jeffrey Zaslow, nationally known
for his advice column "All That
Zazz," will be featured at the July
28 meeting of ChaZaKaH, the
Adat Shalom seniors group 12:30
p.m. at the synagogue.
An Adat Shalom member, Mr.
Zaslow, in 1987, replaced Ann
Landers at the Chicago Sun-
Times. Through the stories told
in his column, Mr. Zaslow has
helped to raise more than a half-
million dollars for a host of char-
ities.
The program will begin with a

Young At Heart
Hold Picnic
The Yiddish Culture Club Con-
cert will be July 21 at 1 p.m. at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jew-
ish Community Center. Cantor
Sidney Resnick and accompanist
Lillian Zellman will perform.
On July 26 at 1 p.m., Fabs
Kaldobsky will present a discus-
sion of famous composers and
their music. There is no charge.
Young At Hart, Beth Achim Se-
niors, will hold their annual pic-
nic at the shul. noon July 21.
Attendees should bring a dairy
sandwich; beverages and dessert
will be provided. There will be en-
tertainment.
