ANNE ZIMMERMAN, 77, of
Tamarac, Fla., died June 30. She
is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Barrie and Harvey
Chafficin of Commerce Township;
son and daughter-in-law, Nathan
and Deborah; brother and sister-
in-law, Jay and Sharon Wasser-
man; sisters, Norma Wasserman,
Sara Rumel; five grandchildren;
one great-grandchild.

CEAL ZIMMERMAN, 91, of
Southfield, died June 25. She
leaves her daughters and sons-
in-law, Marilyn and Leon Belin
of Southfield, Sara and Morris
Schwartz of West Bloomfield,
Gloria and Leonard Brozgold of
Southfield; 13 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren.

The obituary of Oscar Ka-
plan, July 1, should have
indicated he is survived by
his niece and nephew, Lin-
da and Bernard Kantor of
West Bloomfield.

Ivan Frankel

Ivan Frankel, 82, of Bloomfield
Hils, died June 29. He was a
building construction executive.
He was involved with war bonds
and in the army he was in charge
of education and rehabilitation
at Camp Maxey Hospital. He
received an honorary degree from
Wayne State University.
In the early '50s, he entered
the building business, joining his
brother Herman Frankel. He
subsequently became president
of the Builder's Association of
Southeastern Michigan in 1973.
He was a member of Franklin
Hills and Birmingham Temple.
He leaves his wife, Rema; son
and daughter-in-law, Jim and
Kathy of Royal Oak; daughter,
Marjorie Rylew of Win.oeski, Vt.;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay
and Bette of West Bloomfield,
Herman and Barbara of West
Bloomfield; sister, Ann Raskin of
Birmingham; sister-in-law, The-
rese Schulist; two grandchildren.

Jack Freedland

Dr. Jack J. Freedland, 72, of
Southfield, died July 3. He was a
dentist with an office in Madison
Heights until he retired five years
ago. He was a lieutenant in the
U.S..Navy during the Korean

War. He did volunteer work at
Sinai Hospital and was a member
of the Institute of Retired
Professors.
He leaves his wife, Mary;
daughter and son-in-law, Eileen
Freedland and Stuart Shulman
of Waterford; sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey and Dr.
Rachel of Los Angeles, Dr. Curtis
and Barbara of Odessa, Fla., Dr.
Robert and Dr. Cassia of Staten
Island, N.Y., Dr. Michael and
Linda of Ann Arbor, brothers and
sister-in-law, Harry and Ruth,
Ben, all of North Miami, Fla.,
Hymand and Gloria; 10 grand-
children.

Karl Katz

Karl Katz, 85, of Southfield, died
June 27. He was the owner of
Labelle Furs on Grand River in
Detroit for over 60 years. He
retired in 1982. He was past pres-
ident of Redford Shrine Club,
past president of Detroit Furriers
Guild.
He leaves his wife, Belle;
daughters and son-in-law, Arlene
and Lawrence Sukenic of Bloom-
field Hills, Sheila and Max Gen-
delman of West Bloomfield;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Mur-
ray and Mildred, Jack and Ruth,
all of Florida; seven grand-
children; two great-grand-
children.

Dr. Burton Simon

Dr. Burton "Buddy" Simon, 73,
of Bloomfield Hills, died July 1.
He was an orthodontist special-
izing in children with an office in
Southfield for over 30 years. He
was a graduate of University of
Michigan Dental School and
Alpha Omega David Fraternity.
He was a member of Birming-
ham Temple.
He leaves his wife, Rochelle
Wilber Holtman; daughters and
sons-in-law, Carole and David
Drachler of Bloomfield Hills;
Judy and Harry Dalsey; father-
in-law and mother-in-law,
Richard and Madelyn Wilber;
three grandchildren.

K. A. Zimmerman

Kathleen "Atara" Zimmerman,
74, of West Bloomfield, died June
27. She was a life member of
Hadassah, B'nai B'rith, Women's
Committee of Art Academy of
Cranbrook. She was active with
Ikebanas Society, a member of
the Jewish Community Center
Yiddish Club, Holocaust Mu-
seum, charter member of Holo-
caust Memorial Museum in
Washington, D.C.
She leaves her husband, Ray-
mond; daughter, Denise of San
Diego; brother and sister-in-law,
William J. and Gloria Goodman
of Longwood, Fla.; sister, Connie
Cohn of Tucson.
