Annual Meeting
Plan Installation

Reservations are still being ac-
cepted for the Jewish Federation
Women's Divisions 48th annual
meeting 11 a.m. May 25 at Con-
gregation Beth Achim.
The program will feature a dis-
cussion of "The Ties that Bind"
the Jewish community together
by Arna Poupko, who heads the
Department of Living Judaism
at the Jewish Education Council
of Montreal and serves as Juda-
ic consultant to the Montreal Fed-
eration.
Coffee and registration are at
11 a.m., and the program at 11:30
a.m. Lunch will be served, and
there is a fee.
A sign language interpreter
also will be available. For reser-

Rights Advocate
Will Speak

Shulamith Koenig, a human
rights advocate, will be the guest
speaker at a Michigan Region
Women's American ORT recep-
tion honoring Paula Glazier on
behalf of the Women's Division
of State of Israel Bonds. The re-
ception will be held May 26 at the
home of Mala and Henry Dorf-
man.
Ms. Koenig, one of the
founders of Israel's "Peace Now"
movement, is also president and
founder of the Decade of Human
Rights, Inc., and executive direc-
tor of the organizing committee
of the Decade of Human Rights
Education, which promotes edu-
cation in human rights and
democracy.
She is an industrial and mar-
keting consultant to Israeli man-
ufacturers, and a frequent
lecturer both in the United States
and Israel. Ms. Koenig, who re-
ceived her degree in industrial
engineering and industrial man-
agement from Columbia Univer-
sity, has been the recipient of four
national awards for best indus-
trial design in Israel.

Meeting

A meeting of the David-Horodok-
er Women's Organization will be

Temple Israel Sisterhood will
hold its annual installation lun-

Madame Cleo, a woman who
knows exactly what the cards
hold for the future, will be the
guest for the Beth Shalom Sis-
terhood 38th annual donor lun-
cheon noon May 26 at the
synagogue.
The program will be "Back to
the Future" with psychic
Madame Cleo. Madame Cleo has
appeared on numerous television
programs and can currently be
seen on the Eyewitness-Channel
2 News weekends with Warren
Pierce. She is a lecturer on as-
trology, dreams, palmistry and
parapsychology.
A mini-boutique will be held

Hold Meeting

Rosalyn Liner, president of the

Veterans, will call her last

The Department of Michigan
Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish
War Veterans will hold an Oneg
Shabbat honoring Dorothy Gold-
berg May 27 at 8 p.m. at the JWV
Memorial Home. Refreshments

Ms. Goldberg worked her way
up through the chairs to become
auxiliary president and then de-
partment president.
As a member of a veterans
auxiliary, she serviced the USO,
setting up a unit for young men
being shipped to Vietnam and
sending packages to service men.
Her newest project is collecting
