Volunteers are needed at the
Jewish Community Center to as-
sist with a federally sponsored se-
nior hot lunch program. Duties
would include setting tables, serv-
ing food and packing homebound
meals. The nutrition site is lo-
cated in the Jimmy Prentis Mor-
ris Building, 15110 West Ten

Plan Programs
A trip to Frankenmuth for lunch
at the Bavarian Inn and a shop-
ping expedition at Birch Run are
on the agenda for the Beth Elders
of Temple Beth El May 17. The
group will travel by bus, depart-
ing from the temple at 9:30 a.m.
and then leaving Birch Run at
3:15 p.m. for the return trip.

On May 22, the Middle Years
Group of Temple Beth El will
hold their final program of the
year. Penny Steyer, singer and
guitarist, will entertain with
Broadway, pop and Hebrew
melodies. Cake and coffee at
12:30 p.m. will be followed by the
program at 1 p.m. There is no
charge, reservations are not nec-
essary.
JPM Seniors
Events Set
A Glassman Shavuot party will
take place May 10 at 1 p.m. at
JPM JCC. Sam Barnett and his
orchestra will entertain. Get tick-

A Yiddish Culture Club con-
cert will be performed May 19 at
1 p.m. at JPM. Adele Kozadayev
and Galina Feldman will enter-

At Butzel
The Fresh Air Society and the
Midrasha Center for Adult Jew-
ish Learning are sponsoring a
week-long Elderhostel program
May 22-27 at Butzel Conference
Center, near Ortonville.
Dr. Peter Levine, professor of
history at Michigan State Uni-
versity will present "Assimilation
and the East European Experi-
ence." Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine of
the Birmingham Temple will re-
view "World Religions of the
Twentieth Century," and Corinne
Stavish, a lecturer in speech com-
munications at Lawrence Tech-
nological Institute, will discuss
"Sages and Seers/Schelmiels and
Shlimazels." Evening entertain-
ment will include Nancy Gur-
win's Broadway Then and Now
and Israeli dancing with Shelly
Jackier.
