Attracts Singles

or singles, south Florida
can mean more than a
great vacation. With its
many singles groups this
area is now a good place to meet
people, to make contacts and to
network.
The following is a selection
of groups meeting throughout
south Florida. All the telephone
numbers are for area code 305.
Singles + Singles is dedicat-
ed to helping Jewish singles
meet Jewish singles. They spon-
sor two to three singles func-
tions every month.To get on

about their singles programs,

for singles (20-40) are informal
lectures on topics of Jewish in-
terest. They are held Monday
nights, at Project Heritage of
Greater Miami, in Bay Harbor
Island (653-8953).
Singles will find oceanfront
accommodation, all along the
coast of south Florida at great-
ly reduced rates, during the
spring and summer. And some
of the best hotels drop their

rates by as much as 50 percent
during this period.
To the south, in Miami's Key
Biscayne, the totally renovat-
ed, lovely Sonesta Beach Hotel,
offers a quiet, relaxing, infor-
mal ambiance, just across the
bridge from the excitement of
Miami and Coconut Grove.
To the north, the Sheraton
Bal Harbor Beach Resort, with
its many amenities and spa-
cious grounds, is situated di-
rectly across from the famous
Bal Harbor shopping mall.
For casual, lower-priced ac-
commodation, the renovated
Sheraton Yankee Trader, in
Fort Lauderdale, which
faces the ocean, now has
a new skywalk that
takes guests directly to
the city's beautiful, new-
ly restored beach.
Further north, the
distinguished Boca Ra-
ton Resort and Club,
with its renowned
architecture and
gardens, is a
real treat for
anyone wish-
ing to in-
dulge in a luxurious
holiday.
For quiet elegance
and luxurious sur-
roundings in Palm Beach, the
Four Seasons Ocean Grand is
one of the newest and most
beautiful hotels in town. It of-
fers excellent rates from late
spring and into early fall.
Singles can enjoy a wide
range of cultural activities in
south Florida. In the Miami
area the Coconut Grove Play-
house and the Jackie Gleason
Theatre bring plays from
Broadway and elsewhere. Fine
theater also is available at the
Parker Playhouse in Fort Laud-
erdale, the Hollywood Per-
forming Arts Theatre, the South
Florida Jewish Repertory in
Coral Springs and the Florida
Jewish Theatre in Palm Beach.
For music, the Concert As-
sociation of Florida brings the

performances to several of south
Florida's major theatres.
For art, there are the Lowe
Art Museum, the Bass Muse-
um in the Miami area, and nu-
merous galleries and museums
further north, such as Fort
Lauderdale's well-known mu-
seum of Art, the Nathan Rosen
Art Gallery at the Boca Raton
Jewish Community Center.
