The sisterhood of Adat Shalom
will sponsor a two-part book re-
view series this month in which
Rabbi Efry Spectre will discuss
'Death and Rebirth": two works
of historical and literary inter-
est which take us from the
depths of the Holocaust to the
promise of Israel.
On April 19 at 12:30 p.m., the
group will hear about Thomas
Keneally's Schindler's List, the
story upon which Steven Spiel-
berg based his award-winning
film.
On April 26 at 12:30 p.m.
Rabbi Spectre will talk about
the newest work of Herman
Wouk. The Hope is a tale of four
Israeli army officers and the
women they love.
Both afternoons will begin
with coffee followed by the re-
views at 1 p.m. There is no
charge. Make reservations at
the synagogue office, 851-5100,
by the Friday before each
program.
B&P-Pisgah
Installs Officers
The Detroit Business and Pro-
fessional/Pisgah Chapter of
B'nai B'rith Women will hold its
annual installation of officers

be Michelle Engler, first lady of
Michigan.
In honor of NCJW Week, the
Hannah G. Solomon Award will
be presented to Maxine Ber-

Art Fair Set
At Temple Israel
Temple Israel Sisterhood will
hold its annual Art Fair April
17, 18 at Temple Israel. The
event will begin with a patrons-
only champagne preview April
16 from 8-11:30 p.m.
Art Fair showcases art ob-
jects from local, national and in-
ternational artisans as well as
wearable art and unusual bou-
tiques. Food and refreshments
will be available. There is a
charge for the fair.
