On April 8, MSU Hillel will
sponsor a Holocaust victim
name reading from noon-1 p.m.
on MSU's campus. Also on April
8, Hillel will present a semi-for-
mal Shabbat dinner at 7 p.m.
following Reform services at
6:15 p.m. There is a charge and
reservations are required.
On April 10, Hillel will co-
sponsor the Holocaust commu-
nity commemoration at 7:30
p.m. at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek, 1924 Coolidge Road,
East Lansing, followed by a
campus candlelight vigil at 10
p.m. behind Wells Hall.
On April 11, Rabbi Ja-
cobovitz from Machon L'Torah
in Oak Park will speak on "Ar-
rogance vs. Pride" at 7:30 p.m.
at Hillel.
On April 12, Dr. Daphna
Sharfman from Haifa Univer-
sity will speak at 7 p.m. on
"Women in Israeli Politics" on
the third floor of Case Hall.
On April 13, Hillel will spon-
sor a Yom Hazikaron service at
7 p.m. behind the Alumni
Chapel on MSU's campus.
On April 14 there will be an
Israel Independence Day rally
from noon-1 p.m. at Beaumont
Tower on campus. Joe Medwed
from the American Zionist
Movement will be the keynote
speaker. Also on April 14, Hil-
lel will co-sponsor Pulitzer Prize
winning author Art Spiegelman
at 8 p.m. in MSU's Fairchild
Theater on "The Making of
MAUS I and II."

school year. Board members in-

U-M Hillel
Sets Calendar

Tom Starks will lead Israeli
dancing April 10 8-10 p.m. at
U-M Hillel. There is a charge.
SHOUT (Students Honoring
Outstanding University Teach-
ing) evaluated nominations to
select the recipient of the fourth
annual Golden Apple Award,
sponsored by Hillel and Apple
Computers. This year's winner
is Dr. Brian Coppola of the

Chemistry Department. His
"ideal last lecture" will be April
13 7:30 p.m. at Rackham Audi-
torium.
The Jewish Law Students
Union and the Grad and Young
Professional Group will present
a Veggie Shabbat Potluck April
15 at 8 p.m. at the Lawyer's
Club, Law Quad. Elliot Gins-
burg, associate professor ofJew-
ish thought, will lead a
discussion about Shabbat in the
mystical tradition.
U-M and EMU Hillel will
present an Israel Independence
Day party April 16 at 8 p.m. at
U-M Hillel.

Metro Hillel
Programs Set

On April 11 at 12:30 p.m.,
Wayne State Hillel will present
Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz in
Room 667 Grosberg Center.
On April 14 from noon-1 p.m.
in the Annex I of the Oakland
Center, Oakland University's
Jewish Student Organization/
Hillel will hold a Holocaust
memorial service. For informa-

Jessica Stein or Saul Grunfeld.

Huntington Woods has been
named to the dean's list of Bow-
doin College in Brunswick,
Maine.

Fun Day
At The JPM

A Family Fun Day will be held
1-4 p.m. April 24 at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Jewish Com-
munity Center.
The afternoon, which will
provide an introduction to the
JPM Biblical Playground to be
constructed on the July 4th
weekend, will feature kosher re-
freshments and activities for
children. These include pony
rides, puppet shows, face paint-
ing, Jewish Experiences For
Families-sponsored family ac-
tivities.
Admission is free to the Fam-
ily Fun Day, which is sponsored
by the Neighborhood Project of
the Jewish Federation of Met-
ropolitan Detroit, the Jewish
Community Center and JEFF.
