president of Schostak Brothers
and developers of Laurel Park
Place, welcomed Mr. Hess to
the area.
Construction is on
schedule for the the
150,000-square-foot Parisian
department store to be open-
ed August 1994 at Laurel
Park Place in Livonia. Along
with Jacobson's, the Pari-
sian store will anchor the
shopping center. This may
strengthen family ties as
well since the Rosenfeld fam-
ily of Jacobson's is distantly re-
lated to the Hess family of
Parisian.
Parisian, Inc. was founded
in 1887 in Birmingham, Ala.
and purchased by Carl
Hess in 1920 under the
leadership of the Hess and
Abroms families. Third-
generation Donald Hess is
CEO, while his father Emil
serves as chairman of the
board. Harold Abroms is
vice chairman.
Other notables at the re-
ception included: Elliot
Marcus, store manager,
Jerome Schostak, Mark
Rosenfeld, David
Schostak, Anita Marcus,
Fred Marx, Stephanie
Jacobson and Jeffrey
Green.
