at the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building in Oak Park — three
hour-long sessions of crafts,
cooking and entertainment
which included storytelling,
singing, puppetry and a theater
group.
Tuesday night, March 22,
children and parents piled onto
exercise mats to hear a
Passover story by Corrine
Stavish. She spoke of a boy as
little as a thumb who rode on
dreidels and chopping knives,
then checked people's pockets
for chametz. Ms. Stavish also
adapted the story of the Gin-
gerbread Man and roused the
audience into singing, `Run, run
as fast as you can, you can't
catch me, I'm the matzah ball
man."
Marni Falk of Huntington
Woods listened with her moth-
er, Debbie Salinger. After the
stories, Marni finished painting
a muslin afikomen bag.
"I think programs like these
are a great way to prepare for
the holidays, especially for the
younger children," Ms Salinger

engineering and a design
engineer for RCA, Judith
Resnick was the first Jewish
American astronaut. She
died in the Challenger
disaster in January 1988.
