The richly-textured cityscapes
and expressive contemporary
pieces of Russian architect and
watercolorist Anatole Kras-
nyansky will come to the Park
West Gallery during a special
exhibit through April 14.
A lover of watercolor all his
life, Mr. Krasnyansky captures
city scenes and contemporary
subjects with tremendous sen-
sitivity and the technical ex-
actness that stems from his
architectural training.
Mounting 100 percent
Japanese rag paper on canvas
for support enables Mr. Kras-
nyansky to achieve great depth
in his work. He uses a very soft
sable brush to apply an initial
layer of paint followed by a sec-
ond layer, in the opposite di-
rection, with a brush as stiff as
wire.
